Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice a small head of cabbage into thick ½ inch slices. Brush both sides with olive oil and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine your chosen ground meat, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. If using an egg, add it for binding. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Form the meat mixture into patties that fit perfectly on the cabbage slices, aiming for a slight indentation in the center.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes, until the patties reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) and edges start browning.
  • If desired, sprinkle cheese on top after baking and broil for 3-5 minutes until melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with favorites like sweet potato fries or coleslaw.

Notes
