  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Room temperature, can use margarine for dairy-free
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar No direct substitutions recommended
  • 3 large Eggs Can substitute with unsweetened applesauce (1/4 cup per egg)
  • 1 cup Milk Whole milk or non-dairy for vegan
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Almond extract can be used for variation
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Can replace with gluten-free blend
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet or Dark Chocolate Chips Mini chocolate chips or chunks can be used

How to Make Chocolate Chip Loaf

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • Cream softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to the mixture; mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add in all-purpose flour, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Toss chocolate chips in a tablespoon of flour and fold them into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and optionally sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for about 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For an optional finishing touch, drizzle with melted chocolate before serving.
