  • 1 cup 100% Apple Juice Can replace with water for less sweetness.

For the Apples

  • 2 cups Honey Crisp Apples Tart Granny Smith apples can be used as an alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Adjust quantity to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Essential for balance in sweet dishes.

For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans Can substitute with walnuts or omit for nut-free.
  • to taste Extra Cinnamon & Pumpkin Pie Spice (optional) Use according to personal preference.

How to Make Instant Pot Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

  • Start by setting your Instant Pot to the SAUTE function. Add the unsalted butter and let it melt, filling your kitchen with a delightful aroma.
  • Once the butter is melted, add the peeled and diced Honey Crisp apples to the pot. Sprinkle with cinnamon and salt, sautéing until the apples are tender (about 4-5 minutes). Reserve a few pieces for topping!
  • Lightly spray the stainless steel liner with cooking oil or coat it with butter to prevent sticking.
  • Add the steel cut oats, water or almond milk, 100% apple juice, and the sautéed apples to the pot. Give it a good stir before locking the lid securely.
  • Set the Instant Pot to cook on manual high heat for 10 minutes. When finished, perform a quick-release of the pressure for perfectly cooked oats.
  • After releasing the pressure, give the oatmeal a good stir. It may seem a little watery, but it will thicken as it cools. If desired, mix in the chopped pecans and any extra sweeteners you like!
  • Spoon the creamy oatmeal into bowls, top with the reserved apple pieces, and drizzle with a splash of milk if desired.

Notes

Optional: Add a sprinkle of extra cinnamon or a dollop of yogurt for added richness!
