Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken drumsticks about 8-10, about 900g
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 packet dry ranch seasoning mix 1-oz/28g

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken drumsticks completely dry with paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, toss the drumsticks with the olive oil until they are lightly coated.
  • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix over the chicken. Toss again until each drumstick is evenly covered.
  • Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Air fry at 380°F (195°C) for 20 minutes.
  • Using tongs, carefully flip each drumstick.
  • Continue to air fry for another 8-10 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Confirm the chicken is done by checking that the internal temperature has reached 165°F (74°C) with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Let the drumsticks rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

For food safety, always cook poultry to a minimum internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the drumstick without touching the bone.
Patting the chicken dry with paper towels is an important step for achieving crispy skin.
Placing the drumsticks in a single layer helps the hot air circulate, which cooks them evenly and makes them crispy.
