Description

Ultimate Runza Casserole is a comforting and delicious twist on the classic Nebraska Runza dish. This hearty casserole features layers of savory ground beef, fresh cabbage, and melted cheddar cheese, all encased in a flaky crescent roll crust. Perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings, it combines rich flavors and easy preparation for a satisfying meal that will warm hearts and appetites alike.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in shredded cabbage; cook until wilted, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Lay out crescent rolls in the baking dish to cover the bottom. Layer half of the beef mixture followed by half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers.
  5. Fold any excess dough over the top and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
