- 12 lasagna noodles (cooked al dente)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 15 oz whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded whole-milk mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat; drain excess fat. Add minced garlic and Italian seasoning, cooking for an additional minute.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Layer the baking dish with marinara sauce, followed by lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, half of the meat mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Finish with a final layer of noodles topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil; bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 25 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
