Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh jalapenos, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the jalapenos into thin rounds, leaving some seeds for extra heat if desired.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, water, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat while stirring until dissolved.
  3. Add the sliced jalapenos to the syrup and reduce heat. Simmer for about 10 minutes until peppers absorb the syrup but remain crunchy.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Transfer candied jalapenos with syrup into clean airtight jars. Store in the refrigerator for up to one month.
