Instructions

  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty; let cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, browned butter, and egg until smooth.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture; stir until just combined.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized dollops onto prepared sheets and bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool on wire racks; drizzle with ghostly icing made by whisking powdered sugar with milk.
