Description

Mushroom Marsala Chicken is a comforting dish that features tender chicken breasts enveloped in a rich, savory sauce made with Marsala wine and sautéed mushrooms. This recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions, combining simplicity with gourmet flavor. The velvety sauce pairs beautifully with pasta or rice, making every bite a delightful experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup dry Marsala wine
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Gather and chop your mushrooms and mince the garlic.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then sear until golden brown (about 5 minutes per side). Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic and mushrooms until tender (about 5 minutes).
  4. Pour in Marsala wine, scraping up any brown bits from the pan, and simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in chicken broth and heavy cream; return chicken to the pan. Simmer until cooked through (about 10 minutes).
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
