- 1 tsp paprika

- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: dice the bell peppers and onion, and mince the garlic.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the sliced sausage until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onion, bell peppers, and garlic; sauté until softened (4-5 minutes).
- Stir in uncooked rice along with cayenne pepper, paprika, thyme, and bay leaves; cook for another minute.
- Add chicken broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover tightly and simmer for about 20 minutes or until rice absorbs all liquid.
- Fold in shrimp and cooked sausage; cover again until shrimp turn pink (about 5 minutes).
