- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and food coloring. Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients to form a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth and elastic. Allow it to rise in an oiled bowl covered with a towel for one hour or until doubled in size.
