Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly coat a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, pepper, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side until browned.
  4. Remove the pork from the skillet. Add sliced apples and onions to the same pan and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  5. Pour maple syrup over the apples and onions, stirring gently. Return the pork chops to the skillet, ensuring they are surrounded by the fruit mixture.
  6. Transfer everything to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Serve with extra glaze spooned on top.
