Ingredients

  • 4 lbs boneless pork shoulder
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 12 slider buns
  • 2 cups coleslaw (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the onion into thick rings and mince the garlic.
  2. Season the pork shoulder generously with salt and pepper.
  3. (Optional) Sear the pork in a skillet over medium-high heat until golden brown on all sides.
  4. Layer the onion rings in the bottom of the crockpot followed by the pork shoulder. Add minced garlic on top, then pour in barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar.
  5. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until tender enough to shred easily.
  6. Once cooked, shred the pork in the crockpot and mix well with juices.
  7. Serve on slider buns topped with coleslaw.
