  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter; stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
  4. Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle, and spread softened butter on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  5. Roll tightly into a log and slice into equal pieces. Place cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
  6. Pour heavy cream over the rolls before baking at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
