The warm aroma fills your kitchen, creating a cozy atmosphere ideal for Christmas morning or any festive brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tsp active dry yeast (2 packets)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Milk as needed for consistency

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm milk with 1 tbsp sugar and sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Make Dough: In a large bowl, whisk flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add eggs and frothy yeast mixture; stir until combined. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Let Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare Filling: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll out dough on floured surface to a rectangle (½ inch thick), spread melted butter evenly, then sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  5. Roll & Cut: Roll dough tightly into a log shape and slice into 12 equal rolls. Place in greased baking dish with space between each roll.
  6. Final Rise & Bake: Cover rolls and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Ice Rolls: Mix powdered sugar with vanilla extract and enough milk for desired consistency; drizzle over warm rolls.
