  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs (seasoned)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Pound chicken breasts to about half an inch thick using plastic wrap.
  3. Set up three bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the flour, then the egg, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
  5. Arrange coated chicken in the baking dish and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven, spoon marinara sauce over each roll, and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for another 5-10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
