Description

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 2 medium yellow onions (sliced thinly)
  • 1 cup Gruyere cheese (grated)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into four-inch squares.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sliced onions. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown.
  4. Stir in balsamic vinegar and cook for another minute.
  5. Place pastry squares on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon caramelized onions onto each square and top with grated Gruyere cheese.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
