Ingredients

  • 10 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or turkey)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried dill or parsley
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cabbage: Boil salted water and add cabbage leaves for about 2 minutes until softened. Remove and cool.
  2. Make the Filling: In a bowl, mix ground meat, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and herbs until well combined.
  3. Wrap It Up: Lay a cabbage leaf flat and add 2 tablespoons of filling at one end. Fold in the sides and roll up tightly.
  4. Cook the Dumplings: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place dumplings seam-side down in a greased baking dish. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil.
  5. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil for the last 5 minutes to brown.
  6. Serve: Transfer to plates and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
