  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (browned)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbling and golden brown, then set aside to cool.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Mix in the browned butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until fully combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cardamom, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined; do not over-mix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool in the pan for ten minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice when slightly warm.
