Description

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 2 cups mixed mushrooms (cremini and shiitake, chopped)
  • 2 tbsp high-quality truffle oil
  • 2 shallots (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick, then place it on the prepared baking sheet, pressing down the edges to form a border.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté shallots until translucent. Add chopped mushrooms and sauté until golden brown.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, thyme, truffle oil, salt, and pepper. Stir in the sautéed mushrooms.
  5. Pour the mushroom mixture into the pastry shell and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving warm or at room temperature.
