  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in half of the chocolate chips.
  4. For the cookie dough, repeat step 2 without cocoa powder; mix in flour and remaining baking powder.
  5. Layer brownie batter in the prepared pan followed by spoonfuls of cookie dough on top. Swirl gently to combine.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until set; cool slightly before cutting into squares.
