  • 14 oz firm tofu (extra-firm)
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 4 scallions (chopped)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu between two plates for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Fry tofu cubes in batches until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
